How to Stop Someone to Accessing Your Phone Remotely?
Turn On 2FA on Android With Google
To prevent sensitive information from being stolen two-factor authentication (often referred to as 2FA) is a great form of protection.
- To turn on 2FA on Android first go to Settings of your Android, scroll down and select the option ‘Google’.
- Open Google and tap on ‘Manage your Google Account’ and your Google Account page will open.
- Then, from the above sliding menu select the option ‘Security’.
- Scroll down to the Signing in to Google section, there you can click on the 2-Step Verification section. It will appear turned off.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on ‘Get Started.’
- Then, to verify your identity sign in to your Google account.
- Next, you will see a list of all the devices connected to your account that can be used for 2FA. Click on the ‘Continue’ button below.
- Then Google will ask you to enter your phone number. Enter your phone number and click on ‘Send.’
- You will then get a text message containing a code to that phone number. Enter the code into the required space and click ‘Next.’
- Next, you will be asked to turn on 2-Step Verification. It will tell you how you’ll get the verification prompt and the backup option.
- You can then select ‘Turn On’ in the corner.
Remove Unrecognized Devices
It’s recommended that you can browse through your phone and remove the unrecognised devices that are connected to your Google account.
- Open the Settings of your Android phone, scroll down and select the option ‘Google.’
- Open Google and tap on ‘Manage your Google Account.’
- On your Google Account page go to the ‘Security’ tab.
- Scroll down and under ‘Your devices’ section tap on ‘Manage all devices.’
- You will then wesee a list of devices signed into your Google Account.
- You can tap on any device that you don’t recognize.
- Select the option Don’t recognize this device? to sign out from there.
- After you do this, it’s recommended you to change the password on your phone.
Change Your Android Phone’s Password
After making changes to your Google account, it is recommended you to change your Android phone’s lock screen password.
Open the Settings menu and tap on ‘Lock screen.’ In the next window, tap Screen lock type. Enter your password when it asks.
- On some Android devices open your phone’s Settings and tap on ‘Security.’
- If you don’t find “Security,”: To get help, go to your phone manufacturer’s support site.
- To choose a kind of screen lock, tap on ‘Screen lock’ option.
- Under Screen lock type, it’s recommended you select the Password options for the highest level of security.
If you’ve already set a lock, then you need to enter your PIN, pattern, or password before you can choose a different lock. Tap on the screen lock option you’d like to use and follow the on-screen instructions
- Tap on ‘Password’ and enter a new password.
- Enter the new password again to confirm it.
Enable Smart Lock
It is also recommended you to enable the Smart Lock feature which will keep your Android phone unlocked when the device detects it’s on you and locks it when apart.
- Go to your Android phone’s Settings.
- Go to ‘Security & privacy’ and select ‘More security & privacy.’
- Choose ‘Smart Lock.’ On some devices, it is now called ‘Extend Unlock.’
- Then, enter your password or another screen lock.
- Choose either ‘On-body detection’, ‘Trusted places’, or ‘Trusted devices’ and follow on-screen instructions.
