Take a Screenshot on iPhone 16 Through iPhone X
Taking a screenshot on an iPhone is as simple as pressing some buttons. In older models of iPhone making a screenshot involved using the Home button, but beginning with the βiPhone X, Apple removed that button.
Below are the steps to take screenshots with your iPhone if it doesn’t have a Home button and it is having a Face ID:
- Open the content that you want to take screenshot.
- Press the side button (formerly known as the Sleep/Wake button) and the volume up button at the same time. You just have to quick press-and-release; don’t hold them for too long.
- The screen flashes and the camera shutter sounds to indicate that you took a screenshot.β
- After that a thumbnail of the screenshot appears in the corner of the screen.
- You can tap on the thumbnail image to edit or share the screenshot.
- Swipe it off the left edge of the screen to dismiss it and that screenshot will saved to the Photos app.
Take a Screenshot on Older iPhone Models
If you are having a older iPhone model, then old iPhones have a Home button. If that’s what yours has, or you have an iPod Touch, then below are the steps to take a screenshot:
- Open the content on the screen that you want to capture.
- Then, press the Home button and the side/top button at the same time.
Note: Depending on your iPhone models, location of the button may differ. It’s either on the right side or the top right.
- When you take the screenshot, the screen flashes white, and the phone plays the sound of a camera shutter. At the corner of the screen a thumbnail appears; you can tap it to edit or share the image. You can swipe it off the screen to save it to the Photos app.
Take a Screenshot With “AssistiveTouch”
There’s an easier way to take a screenshot on an iPhone screenshot is using ‘AssistiveTouch’. This is an accessibility feature of iOS that adds a virtual, on-screen Home button. You can turn on the AssistiveTouch and configure it. To taking a screenshots it requires just a couple of taps and this works for all iPhones and iPod Touches.
- Open Settings of your iPhone and tap on ‘Accessibility.’
- Under Physical & motor section tap on ‘Touch’ option.
- Open Touch and you will see the first option ‘AssistiveTouch’, tap to open it.
- Next to AssistiveTouch, you will see the toggle switch, tap on it to turn it on and immediately, the AssistiveTouch button appears on the screen.
- You can then drag and place the AssistiveTouch button on any spot around the outside edge of the display.
- Below the AssistiveTouch option, you will see the ‘Custom Actions’ section, you can choose which action takes a screenshot. Tap Single-Tap, Double-Tap, Long Press, or 3D Touch (on models that have this type of screen) to assign a command to that gesture.
- You can then tap on ‘Screenshot.’
- To take the screenshot, tap the AssistiveTouch button on the screen in whatever way you set it up, for example a single tap or double tap etc.
Where to Find Your iPhone Screenshots?
When you take a Screenshots in your iPhone it will automatically saved to a dedicated folder in the Photos app, you can view their your iPhone screenshots.
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
- From bottom menu tap on the Albums icon if you aren’t already there.
- Scroll down and tap on ‘Screenshots’ folder.
- You can open the Screenshot folder to see a collection of every screenshot you’ve taken.
How to Share iPhone Screenshots?
When a screenshot is saved in your Photos app, then you can either share it as text, email, or you can post it on social media. If you want can also sync it to your computer or delete it.
- Open Photos app on iPhone.
- Open the image from the Screenshots album.
- Tap on the Share button that looks like the box with the arrow coming out.
