How to Add Wi-Fi to Control Center of iOS 18?

If you have an iPhone running iOS 18 then now you can add Wi-Fi toggle to your control center. Apple has introduced a new control center which you can customize and add different controls to it. But, their is currently a connectivity widget that has a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other controls which you can’t customize at the moment and they take up a bunch of space. Go through this article and know a little trick on how you can add the Wi-Fi toggle as a separate control by using your shortcuts app and the process is pretty simple.

How to Add Wi-Fi to Control Center of iPhone?

Go to the Shortcuts App

• The first thing you need to do is to open the shortcuts application on your iPhone and you can do that by swiping all the way to the right side until you open the ‘App library’ section.
• From here, you will just search and open the Shortcuts application.
• If you don’t see the shortcuts app on your iPhone then you have probably deleted it for some reason and you can get it back by going over to the App Store and reinstall it. You will need the shortcuts application inorder to create and add that Wi-Fi toggle.
• Once you are in the shortcuts app, make sure that the shortcut section is selected at the bottom left and then click on ‘All shortcuts’ option.
• This is going to get on the page where you will see all of the different shortcuts which you have on your iPhone and you will then tap on the little ‘+’ icon at the top right corner of the home screen.

Start Creating your Control

• After tap on little ‘+’ icon, the first step is to tap on the ‘Search Actions’ box and then type ‘Wi-Fi’ in the search box.
• The action which you are looking for appear on search results as ‘Set Wi-Fi’, tap on it and this will create an action to turn Wi-Fi on but you just have to make a small adjustment.
• Then click on ‘Turn Wi-Fi On’, then pop-up menu appear, change this to toggle by tapping on ‘Toggle’ and you are created your action successfully.

Customize your Toggle

• The next step is to customize your toggle by adding the Name, color and icon inorder it for look like a Wi-Fi control.
• Tap on the little down arrow icon near the ‘Set Wi-Fi’ option above and a menu will open, then tap on ‘Rename.’ You can name this toggle whatever you want.
• One of the last step you will do is to tap on down arrow one more time and then tap on choose ‘icon.’
• Firstly, you need to select the color for your Wi-Fi icon. You can select the blue color since that is the iOS default through out the system but you can select any colour.
• Then, scroll down through these icons and you need to find a Wi-Fi icon here, it should be somewhere in that connectivity section, just click on it. Then, tap on Done and again tap on ‘Done’

Create your Wi-Fi Control

• After customize the toggle, now you have to create your Wi-Fi control. All you have to do is to add into the control center.
• Just open your control center by swiping from the top right corner of the screen, then tap on the ‘+’
  icon at the top left. You should see the little ‘-‘(Minus) icon next to every control that means you are in the Edit mode.
• What you need to do is to tap on the ‘Add a control’ option at the bottom, which will open the controls menu or you can see an ‘Add a bunch of controls’ to your control center.
• Then, use the search bar at the top and type ‘Shortcuts’. From search result click on the ‘Shortcuts’ toggle and then tap on ‘Choose’ and it will open a list of all shortcuts which you have created in your app.
• Select the Wi-Fi toggle you have created and that’s it.
• You can now resize the toggle to your liking and put it wherever you want on the lock screen. When you click on the toggle it will enable the Wi-Fi connection and click on one more time inorder to turn it off.
