Department of Telecom (DoT) Warns Mobile Users! Do Not Pick Up Calls From Unknown International Numbers or You Will Be Trapped

Governments and telecom companies are working hard to protect people from cyber fraud and online scams. Meanwhile, the government has issued a big warning for 120 crore mobile users. The government has asked mobile users to be careful about receiving calls from different numbers.

A warning has been issued by the Department of Telecom (DoT) of the Central Government. DoT has asked mobile users to be careful about international calls. In this regard, a statement has been issued by the government on Tuesday.The government has advised mobile users to exercise caution in answering calls from unknown international numbers that do not begin with +91. DoT has also been asked to be wary of such calls, which claim to be from Indian government departments.

Even before this, DoT has warned the customers about the calls coming from such numbers. Social Media X (formerly Twitter) issued a warning to consumers and mobile users to be alert and aware of international calls coming from dot +77, +89, +86, +87 and +84. DoT said that the telecom and TRAI have never contacted the customer from such a number. Also, this department does not make calls to customers and users. If the call is coming from such a number, then it is a fake call, against which it is absolutely necessary to take precautions, said DoT. The department said that if anyone is receiving calls from such numbers, report it at sancharsaathi.gov.in and help the department block such numbers and save others.
