How to Know the Model Number of Android Phone?

It is easy to find the model number of your phone, but there are a lot of different manufacturers making Android phones, and also lot of different versions of Android out there. With a little digging, though, you can find the information of your android phone you are using. You can find your phone model either by looking at your phone itself or through settings. You can also use the third-party app to find out model number of your phone easily.

If you are using a smartphone, then you must know what model you are using. But one thing you should know that the model name and model number are two different things. Model name is the smartphone name, with which it marketed to the audience and the model number is a long alphanumeric number. Model number may contain the model name as well. If you know your model name then it will be helpful for you when you buyany spare parts of your model or want to resell your phone.

Know the Model by Looking at the Phone Itself

The first way to find out model of your phone is to by looking at the phone itself, if the model number is printed there. But, this is not a reliable method because Samsung, used to print the model name on the back of its phones but now they doesn’t do it anymore. Up to the Galaxy S9 you can see it on back but if you have a more recent Android device, there’s nothing on the back.

Find Your Phone’s Model Number in Settings

  • You can find the detailed information of your phone you are using and about the model in the Settings menu.
  • Open the Settings app on your android phone, scroll down to the bottom and you will see the option About Phone section.
  • Without even open this section you may see the model name listed here.
  • Depending on your device the “About Phone” screen will look different.
  • In Samsung its “Product Name” and a “Model Name.” The Product Name is something like “Galaxy S24” and Model Name is the specific manufacturing name.
  • In case of Google Pixel phones it simply list as “Model” name. By tapping on “Regulatory Labels” you will find the model number.
  • The model name will be shown at the top of the pop-up.

For Google Pixel and Android 10 or later

  • To find the phone’s model number first go to the Settings of your phone, scroll down and tap on the option About Phone.
  • Under the Model, you will see the name of your phone model.
  • To find the actual model number, tap on the Regulatory Labels and you will see the model number at the top of the screen.

For Samsung

  • In case of Samsung smartphone, you can find out your model number by go to the Settings option.
  • Open the settings, scroll down and tap on the option About Phone.
  • Under the Model option, you will see the model number of your phone.
  • Some Samsung smartphones have their model numbers printed in on their backs, you can simply flip over your phone. Up to the Galaxy S9 you can see it but if you have a more recent Android device, there’s nothing on the back.

For OnePlus

  • If you are having a OnePlus phone then to check the model name and number, you can first go the settings option, sroll down and tap on the option About Phone or About Device.
  • Under the Model or Model Number you will see the model number of your phone.

Using Third-Party App

If you’re still not able to find information about your phone, then you can use a third-party app Droid Hardware Info. Using this app you can get all the details about your phone. You just have to download this app and install it to your phone. The first thing you will get to know through this app is your model name.
