WhatsApp has now offers a ‘Like’ option for status updates and it is visible as a heart icon. When you like someone’s status update a heart icon will show on your display picture when the other person views their status. You can also reacted to status updates with eight different emojis, which will appear as a message reply in chat.
How to Like a WhatsApp Status Update?
The Like option has been available in WhatsApp beta version for a while now, but now it is finally rolling out to everyone using the WhatsApp app.
- To like someone’s WhatsApp Status first open your WhatsApp and go to the Updates tab present at the bottom.
- Then, tap on the person’s status you want to like.
- When the status loads up, tap on the Heart button present next to the “Reply” text box at the bottom right.
- When the other person sees the status views, they will see a heart icon on your display picture and this indicates that you have liked their status. They will also get a notification that you have liked their status.
React to a Status Update on WhatsApp
If you want to be more expressive, then you can also use any of the eight emojis to react to someone’s status. This feature has been available for a while, and most of the people also know about it.
- If you don’t know about this feature, then react to a status update open your WhatsApp first.
- Go to the Updates tab present at the bottom and tap on someone’s status to open it.
- Then tap on the Reply text box at the bottom.
- Now, select any of the available emojis to add your reaction to their status.
- As a message reply the emoji will be sent to their status, and they will only see it when they open your chat.
That’s how you can like and reacted to someone’s status on WhatsApp. The feature alongside WhatsApp Status Mentions has been in development for a while. This is honestly a good and much-needed update to the app that users have requested for a while now.
