How to Post Instagram Story from PC?
- To post Instagram story on PC first open your chrome browser on PC and type instagram.com on address bar and instagram log in page will open.
- Logged in to your account and it will open your instagram feed.
- Left side of your screen you will see the different options, tap on Creator option and it will give you an option to create a new post or you can start a new video but their is not an option on PC to post story by using them.
- Go to your profile and tap on your profile picture, it is going to ask you if you want to change your profile picture or remove current picture.
- In order to post a story, you just have to right click anywhere on background of the website or screen and a pop-up menu will appear, select the option Inspect.
- When you click on Inspect, that is going to open a bunch of code for this website and codes are appear on the right side of the screen.
- Above the codes, you will see the Elements section and left side of Elements, a small mobile icon will be there, enable this button by clicking on it. That is going to get you in to special mode.
- When the mobile icon is enabled, select the Dimensions option above the screen and a pop-up menu with list of devices will show up. This is going to allow you to select between couple of different smartphone or tablet devices.
- You can select the device type you like to view instagram as. You can select any of this because it really doesn’t matter, whether you select iPhone or Android. Both the iPhone and Android version of instagram app are the same and they are going to allow you to post a story.
- Once you have selected the device from the list, you can click on the home icon that present bottom left corner of the screen, in order to go to the homepage. If you don’t see your profile picture at the top left, then refresh the page until you can see your profile picture.
- Or you can refresh the browser window to get the option to Add to your Story.
- You will see the + icon next to your profile picture, click on it and it will see you your story, click on it just like it does in the mobile app of instagram.
- If you click on that little + icon, it is going to open the file explorer where you can select photo, which you want to upload as your instagram story.
- The editing options are quite limited and you can not post more text as in your mobile app.
- Add text, or stickers or draw image if you like. There is no music or links you can add.
- When you complete click on the option Add to your Story at the bottom and the post you have created, that will be posted to your instagram story.
How to Exit Inspect view?
- If you want to exit the Inspect view, when you finished and want go back to your regular instagram desktop site, then again click on the Dimensions above and from pop-up menu select the option Responsive.
- Click on the Mobile icon on right side again to turn off Inspective view. The option will turn gray when disable, then click on ‘X’ icon at the top right corner to exit the Inspect menu or close it.
- You can refresh your window and go back to your regular view. You can watch the story by clicking on your profile icon.
