ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Champions Trophy set for Hybrid Model, India’s Matches Likely in Dubai or Sharjah!
Big update about ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Team India will not visit Pakistan to play the match! Pakistan Cricket Board-PCB has agreed to publish the schedule in hybrid model.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Pakistan next year. Although it is not yet clear that Indian team will not travel to Pakistan to play the match, there is a high possibility that they will not go. The PCB was adamant about India’s tour of Pakistan, but now seems to have agreed to change the sports schedule.
Champions Trophy in Hybrid Model:
According to a PTI report, PCB was asked by India to hold the match in UAE. Pakistan Cricket Board has agreed to this demand of India. This means that the tournament will be held in a hybrid model.
The reason behind this decision is that the Government of India will not allow Rohit Sharma and his team to travel to Pakistan due to socio-political and security reasons.
Team India’s Matches will be Played in Dubai or Sharjah:
2023 Asia Cup was hosted by Pakistan for the last time. Team India did not even go to Pakistan to play at that time. BCCI did not agree to send the Indian team to Pakistan citing security reasons. As a result, the Asian Cricket Council decided to play India’s match in Sri Lanka in the hybrid model. This time the same problem has arisen in the ICC event. The PCB told PTI, “There may be some changes in the schedule if the Indian government does not allow Team India to visit.” The match will be played in Dubai or Sharjah.”
Fixtures may be Revealed on November 11:
The schedule for the Champions Trophy has not yet been announced by the PCB because of BCCI has not given any clear information about India’s visit to Pakistan. According to PCB sources, the board is in talks with the ICC to announce the schedule by next week.
According to an exclusive source, ‘the PCB has also discussed the possible schedule with the ICC, which it sent a few months ago. The PCB wants to announce the schedule by November 11. The PCB has told the ICC that a back-up plan has already been made with a revised budget. There is no point in delaying the release of the probable schedule of matches.
