Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave an update on the new app. He shared a demo video on X (formerly Twitter) showing how the app works. The app will be very simple and user-friendly like UPI. In this, the user just has to scan a QR code, and then the app will scan the person’s face with the selfie camera to verify their Aadhaar identity. In this, there is no need to show the card to anyone or give any photocopy. Just scan and be done. Like UPI, verification work will also be done very easily with this app.
How the App Works?
There will be a QR code, wherever your identity is required, you will have to scan this code in your app. After that, the app will automatically turn on the selfie camera of the person’s mobile, take a selfie of the person and match it with the UIDAI data. The app will only provide as much data as it needs, thereby preserving the privacy of the individual.
