Reliance will Set up World’s Largest AI Data Center in Jamnagar

Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Ltd will set up the world’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) Data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It will have a capacity of 3 gigawatts. The company has planned this in view of the increasing demand for AI in the world. The data center will be equipped with the latest AI semiconductors from NVIDIA Corporation. If it becomes operational, it will top the capacity of the world’s largest existing data centers.

Globally, companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Alphabet are investing heavily in setting up AI-enabled data centers. Reliance has entered this field. Once this center is set up, India will no longer have to depend on foreign countries for data storage. Data in India may be stored in India. Renewable energy will be used as much as possible in this data center. The data center will be powered by solar power, green hydrogen and wind power. However, in terms of continuous power supply, there is still a need for fossil fuels and large battery usage, experts say. If this is implemented, India’s data center capacity will increase three times.
