The atmosphere of IPL 2025 is spreading among Indian fans. Ahead of the mega league’s start, there has been a lot of discussion about the substitution rules. PCB took action on Bose’s decision and he came into limelight. Go through this article and know how the Replacement Rule works.

What is the New Replacement Rule in IPL 2025?

Ahead of IPL 2025, a rule has been made for player replacement. If we look at the rule, players can change players not only before the special season but also during the season. Ahead of IPL 2025, BCCI has made a slight change in this rule. Earlier, transfers could be announced for teams only for the first seven matches of the IPL but now the limit has been increased.

Under the previous replacement rules, the BCCI allowed players to be replaced up to the seventh league match. However, after the change, transfers are now allowed up to the 12th league match. According to the rules, only a player who has put his name forward in the auction and has not been bought by anyone can be replaced. Additionally, if a franchise has added a bowler to the RAPP list as a net bowler and another franchise chooses to replace him, the first franchise will not have any right to retain him.

What is the Money Calculation?

If a player is selected for replacement and the base price is Rs. 1 crore, then he will get Rs. 1 crore or more. If a player becomes fit before the end of the season, then he will not be given a second chance.
