Now the Government of India will keep the personal data of the people. The government will collect 19 types of personal data from people Travelling abroad. The government will know when, where and how passengers are travelling. They will also keep the records of who and how the travel expenses were borne, who carried how many bags and in which seat they sat.

The Indian Government will now keep the personal data of the people Travelling abroad. These data will be stored for 5 years. If necessary, it will also be shared with other law enforcement agencies. Preparations are underway to implement it from April 1. All airlines have been instructed to do so. This step has been taken to keep a check on smuggling. The customs department will analyze the data in between. If any suspicious thing is noticed during the foreign travel of any person, an immediate investigation will be initiated.

All foreign Route Airlines to Register on NCTC-PAX Portal

It is proposed to make it mandatory for airlines to share this data of passengers with the customs department. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has now asked all foreign route airlines to register on the new portal ‘NCTC-PAX’ by January 10.

After registration, the data sharing bridge will be started as a pilot project with some airlines from February 10. Then the system will be fully implemented from April 1. According to the notification issued by the board, the data collection rule was implemented since 2022, but now it is being made mandatory.
