How to Back up Your Contacts to Google on your Old Device?

  • To sync your contacts to your Google account, open the Settings app of your old Android device.
  • Scroll down and tap on Google.
  • Then, select the ‘Settings for Google app’ at the bottom, tap to open it.
  • Then, tap on ‘Google Contacts Sync’.
  • Tap on ‘Status’ and you will see the page ‘Sync status’.
  • Here you will see a option ‘Automatically Sync’ with a toggle switch on right.
  • Toggle on this switch to have your contacts to sync to your Google account, then import your contacts from Google to your new Android device.

How to Import your Contacts onto your New Android Device?

To import your contacts from Google to your new Android device, sign into the same Google account on your new Android device.

  • Open Settings of your new Android phone.
  • Scroll down and tap on ‘ Account & backup’.
  • Under the Google drive option, tap on ‘Back up data’.
  • Then, scroll down and select ‘Google account data’.
  • In sync account page, toggle on the switch of contacts to import your contacts that you saved on your Google account.
  • After that you saved contact should be import on to your new Android smartphone.
