WhatsApp was found working on a cashback feature for UPI payments last month. In India, the Meta-owned firm has begun distributing out its Rs. 51 reward scheme for WhatsApp beta customers.
In India, WhatsApp offers a cashback of Rs. 51
WhatsApp will allow you to claim cashback when you send money to other contacts, according to Business Insider India. There is no minimum amount requirement and you can claim it up to five times. To put it another way, you can send a total of Rs. 5 to five WhatsApp contacts and get Rs. 255 back. Even if those connections do not return the original money, the WhatsApp Pay payback scheme rewards you with Rs. 250.
The problem is that the software is now only available on WhatsApp beta for Android. However, in the following weeks, we can expect the corporation to spread the service to all Indian users. We’ll have to wait and watch if this WhatsApp Pay cashback program will help WhatsApp increase its UPI payments presence in India.
Furthermore, the language in the banner implies that you must send the money to five WhatsApp Pay contacts rather than their UPI ID or other leading UPI payment apps. We looked for WhatsApp Pay’s Rs. 51 cashback programme on two WhatsApp beta accounts and found it to be unavailable on both, indicating that the rollout is currently selective.
In other WhatsApp Pay news, tipster WABetaInfo has discovered that WhatsApp is collaborating with Novi Payments on a digital wallet. The news comes as Novi prepares to launch a standalone digital wallet software in the United States and Guatemala.
